This week I discovered and wanted to pass along to you…there are a number of days each year (I believe 5-8) when you can drive the steam train at the Essex Steam Train and Riverboat for an hour for $500.  Please contact the them at www.essexsteamtrain.com  for the details.  I thought this is a great idea and gift for the person who has everything and wants a new life experience or has an interest in steam trains…..

April 10-11 Educators can enter the Mystic Seaport Museum complimentary with up to 3 additional family members!  The Planetarium will have shows at 11am and 1pm during those days as well.  You can get additional details at www.mysticseaport.org

The USCGA will be open to the public Saturday 3/27 as part of the 100th Anniversary in New London.  Open House is 10am to 4pm and cadets will provide walking tours at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.  Visitors can cheer the baseball team at noon on the lower field.  The Coast Guard Museum will be open as well.  Visitors all need a valid form of identification to enter the main gate.  This is a free event!
